Genieten op het water " Friesland " Island hopping in south-west Friesland
What do you think of when you hear the word Island hopping?
It probably gives you the ultimate holiday feeling; beach, sun water, boats, relaxing, swimming.
Did you know that you don't have to go to the tropics for that at all? Or to Greece or any other exotic place on earth?
After all, island hopping is also possible in Friesland. Now you're probably thinking, oh yes the Wadden Islands. You can indeed island hop there and that too is fantastic.
But island hopping is also possible on the Frisian lakes. The Frisian lake district, for instance, has countless islands, large and small, where you can have a great time.
In the Sneekermeer, the Heegermeer and the Fluessen, for example, you will find a number of larger islands with beautiful moorings of the Marrekrite.
Numerous smaller islands, such as near Gaastmeer, are also great to explore. A holidays on the water and in doing so, island hopping in Friesland is a very good idea!
You will find beautifully landscaped moorings on all the islands. The mooring places are managed by Recreatieschap Marrekrite. You will find waste containers and can moor free of charge. The maximum mooring time is 3 x 24 hours.
To support the Marrekrite, you can buy a pennant. With your contribution, Marrekrite can maintain the moorings, keep them tidy and empty the waste containers. A fine example of hospitality in Friesland.
Several islands can be found on the Heegermeer and Fluessen lakes. Here you can enjoy island hopping! From the Rakkenpolle (Heeg Island) opposite Heeg to the Langehoekspole (Rabbit Island) and then to the Nije Kruzepole.
Each one very nice islands to moor and spend a day. Langehoekspole got a beautiful viewpoint this year and also a very nice sandy beach. The jetties and moorings have all been renewed.
Nice detail, when you want to put your mooring line around the bollard you discover the beautiful new bollards in the shape of the frieze pompebled. How nice is that!
