Overnight

Want to spend an original night in Friesland? Then the Tiny Houseboat might be for you! What is a Tiny Houseboat? The name says it all: a tiny house on a boat. You can spend the night in its home port in Heeg, but the most fun is of course to explore the Frisian lake district! Of course, you can also dock in one of the lovely towns Friesland has to offer, such as Sneek, Heeg, Woudsend Or IJlst.

This motorboat is equipped with solar panels and a battery pack, so you can also spend several days in the wild. And did you know that the Tiny Houseboat has a roof terrace? Gorgeous views guaranteed!

The Tiny Houseboat is fully equipped and features a kitchen with fridge, oven and gas cooker, shower, toilet and as many as 4 adult beds.

A Tiny Houseboat is easy to sail yourself with a little experience. If you prefer not to sail yourself, but would like to see more of Friesland, that's no problem either. Our skipper can also sail you to a new overnight spot.

You can use the Rent a Tiny Houseboat At Genieten op het Water | Boat Rental Friesland.

Nature

In the heart of Friesland, between the water sports towns of Earnewald and Grou, you will find the National Park de Alde Feanen. The two villages are connected by the beautiful Alde Feanen nature reserve (also called the Old Fen). This area is an ancient peat bog, and counts as many as more than 450 plant species and 100 species of breeding birds. The national park is easily accessible both by land and by water. This nature reserve should definitely not be missed in this list!

Nature island the Golden Boaijum

Are you a nature lover and bird lover? Then take a trip to nature island the Golden Boaijum. A 10-minute boat ride from Enjoy on the Water you will find this unique spot. Siebe Klaas and Pytsje Bokma run an organic dairy farm there, but they also organise excursions. And there is also something fun to do for children, as they can go on a farm tour.

Wonderful to see how enthusiastically they can talk about their business and the unique nature island!

Cycling

Want to explore Friesland by land? Then grab a bike, because Friesland has some wonderful routes! If you like a sporting challenge, you can cycle the Elfstedenroute. Prefer a smaller tour? That's no problem either, as there are many beautiful routes with regular ferries on the way to take you to the other side of the water. How much fun is that?
