Maxima sloops are rented out including fuel allowance (for this you get a full tank, enough to sail for a day). There is also a spare tank on board for emergencies.
The Van Vossen sloops are also delivered with a full tank (80 litres). Only when you hire a Van Vossen sloop for several days will we charge for fuel consumption. If you return it full, you pay nothing. If the tank is not full, you will be charged for the number of litres that are empty.
We have some great sloop routes through Friesland. These can be followed via Google Maps on your phone (scan the QR code on the route booklet), but you also get a booklet with the routes and a water chart in case you want to map out a route yourself or shorten or extend an existing route.
For example, a beautiful sloop route through the nature of Gaasterland which calls at Woudsend, Sloten and Balk along the way, offering a nice variety of lakes, canals and ditches. A nice part of the route is the small river Luts. If you want to have some fun beforehand, check this video on watersport.tv.
Another possibility is a sloop rental in Sneek, where you can take the route via IJlst to Sneek, passing the distinctive watergate in the middle of Sneek. With a boat in Sneek, you can stop to shop or grab a terrace at one of the many restaurants or cafés in the town centre. Here you can sit cosily by one of the canals. Via the Sneekermeer, Langweer and Woudsend, you will return to Heeg. This fantastic route across several Frisian lakes is highly recommended, as evidenced by the reviews of our guests.
The trip with the picturesque Gaastmeer and Koudum is also a lovely route to sail. You will pass quiet pools where you can enjoy Friesland's beautiful nature.

Of course, your dog or other pet can come on board. If you bring a large dog or several dogs, please take into account the total number of people and animals when selecting your sloop.
You pay us no additional costs when renting a sloop for a day. If you hire a Van Vossen sloop for several days, you will receive it with a full tank (80 litres). If you return it with a full tank, you pay nothing. If you don't have the time or don't feel like refuelling, we will settle the fuel consumption afterwards.
Should you need more fuel during your holiday or stay overnight in a port, there are of course costs involved.
If you have rented the boat for a day, in case of bad weather you can change your booking to another day within the current season (subject to availability) until 16:00 of the previous day.

We rent sloops for 2-12 people. If you want to come slooping with a group, we can accommodate up to 55 people.
You can rent a sloop from us in season from 1 April to 31 October for as long as you like.

Although our boats and their engines are well maintained, it can happen that the engine won't start or something breaks down. You can always call Jelle and he will help you get going again! Most starting problems are caused by the deadman's cord not being tightened properly or the throttle not being in the neutral position. This is then also solved in no time.
No boating experience is required to drive a sloop. After a short instruction you can take to the water and sail one of our beautiful sloop routes. Extensive instructions are usually not necessary, but if you need more information, just ask Jelle. It is always useful to know the most important sailing rules.
If you rent one of our larger sloops, some sailing experience is recommended.
Naturally, our boats are well insured. In the unlikely event of damage, a € 250 excess applies to your rented sloop.
Sloop rentals are from 9am to 6pm in the morning. During the books these times are listed.
No boating licence is not required to hire our sloops. However, it is good to know the sailing rules. Check the site sailingtogether.com
The minimum age to rent a boat is 18 years. If you are younger please contact us about your plans and together we will see what is possible.
Are you staying in Heeg at one of the holiday parks (such as Pharshoeke, Waterpark Heeg, Havenresort Heeg, Aqua Vive or Pension Aan het Water) or campsites (Watersportcamping Heeg, Camping Lân en Mar or Camping Oan'e Poel) and if you book a sloop for 2 days or longer, it is possible to have your boat delivered and collected at your stay.
If you book your sloop for 5 days or more, we also offer this drop-off and pick-up service in Gaastmeer, Woudsend, Sloten, Langweer, Elahuizen, IJlst and Sneek. In short: if you want to rent a boat in the middle of the Frisian lake district, you have come to the right place!
Actually, you can reach all places in south-west Friesland in a day. Fun towns and villages like IJlst, Sloten, Balk, Woudsend, Gaastmeer, Langweer, Delfstrahuizen/Echternerbrug, Lemmer, etc. But a town like Sneek is also well worth a visit. You can moor in the centre and do some shopping or visit a cosy terrace. And then sail on to the Sneekermeer lake.
You can rent a boat from us in Friesland for 1 to 12 people. If you have a larger group, you can of course rent several sailing boats or sloops.
We rent out various sloops from the Maxima and Van Vossen brands. Maxima sloops are known for their modern underwater hull, contemporary look and good sailing characteristics. The sturdy aluminium Van Vossen sloops are also a pleasure to sail. We often get the question, but which sloop is suitable for me?
The answer depends on a number of factors, but most boats can be sailed without a licence and boating experience. The Maxima 550s are fun, manageable boats on which you can have a wonderful day on the water with 2-6 people. If there are two or three of you, you can rent an optional sun bed and sunbathe.
If you love sunbathing and are with a larger party, then the Maxima 630 tender sloop is for you. This sloop features an aft deck with lounging cushions so you can sunbathe. Furthermore, this sloop has a lovely swimming platform with swimming ladder for a refreshing dip in the Frisian water on warm days. Snacks and drinks stay nice and cool in the fridge. And even though the sloop is somewhat larger than the Maxima 550, the bow thruster makes manoeuvring and docking the Maxima 630 tender sloop very easy. The Maxima 630 is suitable for 2-8 people.
The Maxima 750 Flying Lounge also has a beautiful swimming platform with swim ladder. A spacious and comfortable sloop for enjoying Friesland together (2-12 people). Naturally, this sloop also has a fridge and comfortable cushions on the benches. And thanks to the bow thruster and the modern underwater ship, the Maxima 750 Flying Lounge has excellent sailing characteristics. The Van Vossen Sloop 700 is made of aluminium and has a sturdy appearance. Suitable for 2-10 people, this sloop is equipped with a bow thruster and a powerful engine.
